I have to agree this is the most poppies I have seen almost as if the farmer is growing poppies, now that would make a pleasant change from the explosion of oilseed rape over the last 10 years.
The farmer said that most people have thought that the poppies are being grown deliberately in the field this year. His wife has been counting the cars that stop along the lane!
As for oilseed rape fields, they do look nice for a couple of weeks early in the year, but end up a right mess. The Angles Way we just walked went right through one field of it and was completely overgrown.
